herwig holzmann aus graz in österreich ist ein musiker mit vielen facetten, bei tonAtom präsentiert er seine ruhige, ambiente seite. was er selbst als "beatarmen old-school-ambient" tituliert, kommt warm und intelligent strukturiert daher. was viele von sich und ihrer musik behaupten, ist bei ihm einfach wahr: seine tracks sind soundtracks für filme, die endlich mal jemand drehen sollte. eigenständig und mit der notwendigen portion selbstbewusstsein zieht er sein ding durch und baut intuitiv enststandene sequenzen und atmosphären in akribischer kleinarbeit zu musikalischen stimmungen und akustischen geschichten aus.
neben gelegentlichen ausflügen in tonAtomsche gefilde arbeitet er aktiv beim netlabel laridae mit und hat dort, wie auch auf verschiedenen anderen netlabels, eine vielzahl an freien alben veröffentlicht. am amerikanischen label hive records sind 2 kommerzielle cd-releases erschienen.

apart from occasional trips to tonAtom he co-runs the netlabel laridae. there as well as on several other labels he has released several netaudio releases. two commercial releases have been released through the american hive records label.
