(autoplate #46) und "november 30th" (die 2005 noch als photophob release auf tonAtom erschien) steht diese neue veröffentlichung und sie hält alles, was sie damit verspricht - und mehr. "yes, we're mobile." thematisiert die rolle der mobilität im modernen, westlichen leben. zentrales motiv ist die selbstverständlichkeit, mit der wir sowohl persönliche informationen, als auch uns selbst ständig und scheinbar mühelos über diesen planeten bewegen. virtuos verarbeitet und verfremdet er samples und field recordings aus seiner mobilen erlebenswelt zu sechs klanglandschaften, durch die sich nun der hörer bewegen kann, auf der suche nach bekanntem und unbekanntem. es ist gut, ihn abseits von seinem heimathafen laridae.at auch wieder bei tonAtom zu haben, er ist halt mobil... photophob has been known to the tonAtom audience for a long time. now herwig holzmann returns under his real name. the name he has been using for his ambient releases for years. this release is in the tradition of "how to stop..." (autoplate #46) and "november 30th" (which was released as a photophob release on tonAtom in 2005) and keeps all the promises they made - and more. "yes, we're mobile" deals with the role of mobility in modern western life. the main theme is the fact that we take it for granted that both personal information and ourselves are constantly and effortlessly moving around the planet. samples and field recordings from his own mobile realm of experience are processed and alienated with virtuosity. the result is soundscapes for the audience to travel through in search of the familiar and the unfamiliar. it's great to have him back at tonAtom (away from his home port laridae.at)... yes, he is mobile. |
