pete leuenberger ist aurel. geboren und aufgewachsen in biel/bienne (schweiz). während seiner schulzeit schlug er auf alle arten von percussion instrumenten und lernte am konservatorium in biel. unter der leitung von charles blatter spielte er schlagzeug im "freefile jazz quartett" und in verschiedenen anderen hobby-formationen, wie dem "bienne-jazz-consortioum" und den "bowler-hats".
im alter von 16 tauschte er die drumsticks gegen ein paar "mk's" und einen "outline-mixer". und vier jahre später das gesamte schlagzeug gegen ein auto. vermutlich sein schlechtester deal überhaupt.
sein wichtigster musikalicher einfluss kam hauptsächlich vom jazz und künstlern wie gene krupa, art blakey, duke ellington oder herbie hancock. hiphop spielte ebenfalls eine wichtige rolle, mit künstlern wie melle mel, biz markie und den "boogie down productions".
nach zwei jahren in columbus/ohio erkannte er, wieviel mehr es in der musikindustrie gab. durch einen glücklichen zufall hatte er die chance, einen liveauftritt von "the art of noise" in cleveland zu sehen, was seinen musikalischen vollends erweiterte. zurück in der schweiz wandte er sich dem acid-jazz zu und den spacy klängen von künstlern wie "affie yusuff". seine eigene musikalische entwicklung würde nun bald beginnen.
nach abschluss einer berufsausbildung als schriftsetzer arbeitete er für zwei jahre in verschiedenen jobs, hauptsächlich um ein eigenes mini-studio mit computer, mischpult und einem korg poly aufzubauen. nach kurzer zeit traf er einige ähnlich positiv verrückte musiker (francois achermann, thomas augustiny and tim beicht) und ihre zusammenarbeit beinflusste sie gegenseitig. bei ihren ansätzen völlig neue und experimentelle klangstrukturen, sowohl elektronisch als auch akustisch, produzierten sie mehrere bänder in einem brian eno-ähnlichen stil. home recording sessions erlaubten es ihnen, auf einfache weise das aus ihnen heraus zu lassen, was tief in ihnen war. immer wieder trafen sie neue leute aus der "szene" und sie entschieden sich, events wie "sci-fi beats" oder "monokultur" zu organisieren. sie produzierten und moderierten eine radiosendung namens "noise in a box" auf radio bern und unternahmen noch einiges mehr in dieser richtung.
schliesslich wurde die plattform "maetrixsolution" geschaffen. seit anfang 2003 bietet "maetrixsolution.com" eine beständig wachsende netaudio plattform. die angebotene musik spiegelt den musik/ideologischen horizont unterschiedlicher künstler wider. im märz 2005 wird maetrixsolution das erste remote-music-festival über das internet präsentieren. zusammen mit dem italienische label openlab recods wird pete bei diesem event mitarbeiten, wo immer er kann.
als weiteres musikalisches side project arbeitet (re:)pete mit anderen europäischen musikern an einem so genannten "mathon" - ein live session projekt von künstlern wie digitalis, elektrohandel, nagelring und ernst halft.
derzeit ist pete zu zwei drittel seiner zeit als anwendungsspezialist für einen führenden integrator in der grafikindustrie tätig, daneben ist er vater von drei kindern.

with the age of sixteen he swapped his drumsticks for a set of "mk's" and an "outline-mixer". another four years later the whole drumset had to leave and a car replaced it - probably his worst deal ever.
his main musical influences were mostly jazz and artists like gene krupa, art blakey, duke ellington or herbie hancock. hiphop played another big role with artists like melle mel, biz markie and "boogie down productions".
after two years in columbus/ohio he realized how much more there was to music industry. due to a great twist of fate he had the chance to visit a live gig from "the art of noise" in cleveland which fully widened his musical horizon. back in switzerland he turned to acid-jazz and spacy sounds by artists like "affie yusuff", but it wouldn't take long from that time until his own musical development started...
having finished an apprenticeship as a typographer, he was working in several jobs for two years mainly to gather enough money to put together a mini-studio - a computer, a mixing desk and a korg poly. some time later he met some equally crazy minded musicians (francois achermann, thomas augustiny and tim beicht) with their cooperation having huge influences on each other. trying to create totally new and experimental sound patterns - electronic as well as acoustic - they produced several tapes in a somewhat "brian eno"-ish style. home recording sessions made it easy for all of them to let out what was deep within. from time to time they met new people from the "scene" and they decided to organize events like "sci-fi beats" or "monokultur". they produced and hosted a show called "noise in a box" on radio bern and did more stuff the like.
finally the plattform "maetrixsolution" was created. since early 2003 "maetrixsolution.com" provides a continuously growing netaudio platform. the hosted music reflects the musically ideological horizons of various artists. in march 2005 maetrixsolution will present the first remote-music-festival over the net. together with italy-based openlab records pete will help on this event as far as possible.
as another musical side project (re:)pete is collaborating with other european musicians on a so called "mathon" - a livesession project by people like digitalis, elektrohandel, nagelring and ernst halft.
presently pete earns his living by working two thirds of his time as an application specialist for a leading integrator in the graphics industry and being a dad of three kids.
